You’re treading awfully close to a violation of one of the laws of the Superhero genre. Now, if their parents get killed as a result of their actions, then you’ll be good. If you designate them “sidekicks”, they’re allowed to have parents for at least a couple of chapters, but don’t push it, unless you want Stan Lee to come after you 😉

Heck, it’s a law of almost all YA anymore. No adult support network for the young protagonists. I like seeing the rare occasions where writers find some interesting way around this trope, but it’s tough. I don’t blame anyone for going with the trope itself.
