Well, if you’re starving, you’re probably better off eating the dead than everyone starving to death for no reason. Just don’t eat the ones that died from disease and never touch bone marrow or brain matter, just to be sure.

The main problems with burning bodies are:
1. They don’t burn very well
2. They smell awful
3. It takes a lot of work to put them in piles and is incredibly dangerous even if there’s no plague going around.
