Redesign!

Hello readers! You may have noticed some changes here. My dear friend Joe from No Need For Bushido was good enough to help me fix the site up and streamline a bunch of elements into one page. The comments for each page are being imported one by one and it will take a few days to get all of them situated. Thanks for reading and I hope you like the new site!

Is there a way to access a page by its global number? For example, type “page-313” instead of “page-36-chapter-10” in the address bar?

      Yep, that’s a good idea. I have a friend looking into making a dropdown menu to make navigating easier, maybe he’ll be able to put in number links as well.

Ugh.

I actually do have a problem with the update: the OLD page should actually tell people there’s been a URL and domain change. Seriously, I’ve spent the past day and a half wondering what went wrong, because I got only a blank empty white page at wncomic.com …

The redesign may be pretty and all, but …. you know the signs businesses put in the window when they move? The ones tht read “WE’VE MOVED, please visit our new location at _____” ….?

You _really_ should put one of those up at the old URL.

  The old URL should be redirecting to this one. There shouldn’t have been any interruption of the comic. BUT my new host won’t let it go through. SO that’s what’s going on.
  Also, the old URL did mention it. It mentioned it from saturday to monday. It’s not my fault nobody reads my comments.

    Wow, um …. all I said was, there should have been a note or something left on the old URL … expressly to handle cases like where your new host is denying the redirect.

      You ranted at me. You have a problem you say? Think how I feel. My site was interrupted over the few days where traffic should have been best for me. This has been a fricking nightmare for me.

This explains why I couldn’t access the page any longer, like Sean Long all I got was a blank white page no redirecting or anything. But I’m glad I found where it’ll be. Almost lost track of my favourite webcomic.

    I did have to edit my link—it was linking me to whitenoisecomic-slash-archives, which I guess, is also different this morning…

      I set up a redirect for that too. Hehe, didn’t occur to me how everybody would probably be linked to that and not the main page. But that’s one of the reasons I had this whole redesign done in the first place.

My link was to the latest comic page not the homepage. I’m not sure how popular it was for links but the message there did tip me off to something being off so I tried the home page. Just in case you want to do something with it, the URL I was using is: https://whitenoisecomic.com/archive.php
