Going on a Trip!

Hey dear readers.

I’m leaving on vacation tomorrow, and I had hoped to have a page for you before I left. But I’ve come to the conclusion that before I can continue White Noise, I have to provide a world map! If I don’t and continue with the next scene it’s gonna get terribly confusing, as the spread of locations is piling up. So I’ll work on that this week and once it’s posted the comic can move on once again. I have every intention of going back to once a week updates. In the meantime, thank you so much for reading and I hope you all know I care about you and hope you’re safe.

If you need help with the map, be sure to consider the ketchup-napkin method of sci-fantasy map making. Simply get some ketchup on your hands, then wipe them off with a napkin. Then scan the napkin and trace the ketchup stain in a photo editor. Then you can go back in and add details and make changes as needed.     I just recently finishing binging the archive. The bad news is that long hiatuses seem to be a recurring thing. The good news is, it does keep coming back.
    Oh, and BTW, the author is “she”, not “he”.

    Yep the artist is sometimes pulled away, but she has love for this project and this community. If it were truly dead I believe we’d eventually get a notice of the fact. I won’t stop checking back, even at 8 months and counting. Too much love for white noise.
    
    Edit: I also have the feeling that this hiatus might be on the long side. This is a pivotal point in the story and it might take longer than it did during the other breaks for madsniper to work everything out. Just a hunch. If map-making is necessary for progressing the story, then that means there is probably a lot to be taken on. Especially since she hasn’t been able to make a map thus far… And cartography is super involved.
    It took me over a year to finalize a world map I was working on, and I’m still adding to it. Geology, weather, history, and culture all come into play. Land forms, climates and terrains should make sense if you take your map seriously. Then you have all of the unique features and signs of life that bring your world to life and make it seem believable. Then you have to name everything in ways that are hopefully agreeable with the personalities and histories of the different places/people/things. It’s a lot.

Hey! Just want to let you know that there are still fans here! I think I speak for more than just me when I say we’re willing to wait however long it takes for you to get back to this, no matter the personal problems. Make sure you are good, we all want you to be good.

I realize things might be getting in the way of a proper update, but please just leave some kind of notice that you are at least okay. Bad Things have happened in the past to permanently end webcomics I’ve read so when there’s unexpected silence quite this long it’s a big worry. I hope you’re doing well.
